Seoul traveler
Cherry blossom picnic
Technically, it’s spring, despite the February snow, as it passed February 4th, known as “the day of entering spring”. With flower blossom season approaching, Seoul offers prime spots for flower picnics. Among them, Yeouido and Namsan stand out, with Namsan being a must-visit for tourists.

Let’s hike Namsan
Namsan also boasts the iconic N Seoul Tower, but access to the top via private vehicles and group tourist buses is restricted due to limited parking. As an alternative, most opt for the cable car, although queues can exceed an hour, with a 10-minute ride on busy days. Shuttle buses or city tour buses offer a convenient option.
Most of my favorites involve hiking to the top, which takes less than 1 hour from the metro station. There are various trails to enjoy Namsan Mountain, but only two paths lead to N Seoul Tower. For those interested in taking the cable car, I recommend starting from Myeongdong Station, where the journey from the ticket booth to the top takes about 40 minutes.

Unique experience for walking tourist
If you choose to hike to the top, I recommend starting from Dongguk University Station or Namdaemun Station, which takes approximately 1 hour. Along the way, you can enjoy panoramic views of Seoul. At fascinating viewpoints, the government has installed decks and benches, providing opportunities to relax and take in the scenery.
What can you expect at the top?
Maybe you’ll ascend to the observatory to enjoy a panoramic 360-degree view of the city, relax at the traditional octagonal pavilion, lock a love locker with a message to your loved ones, and admire the scenery spanning both Gangnam (South) and Gangbuk (North) Seoul.
Here’s a suggestion that’s not widely known but offers a unique experience. I hope you have enough time to enjoy what I like.
