Travel Solo
History

This old-fashioned terminal is just 2 stops away from the Express bus station. Located in the southern part of Seoul, it’s aptly named Nambu (South) terminal. Originally a car park for lorries, it transitioned into an intercity bus terminal, including the route to Yeongdeungpo Bus Terminal, in 1990. Its facilities retain the atmosphere of the 1990s.

Major destination
Being the Southern Gateway, Nambu primarily serves bus routes to the southern part of the Korean peninsula and operates intercity buses. Despite its proximity to larger terminals with similar routes, it continues to attract customers by targeting a niche market. It’s akin to how the Express Bus Terminal serves as a major hub like Nopodong in Busan, while Nambu directs people to lesser-known destinations like Haeundae. Occasionally, they offer cheaper tickets for buses to major cities, such as Sasang. If you’re planning to travel to smaller cities in the southern part of Korea without railway or express bus options, Nambu is your go-to. However, expect a slightly longer journey as these buses make a few stops at terminals along the way before reaching their final destination.

recommendation point
Some enjoy the experience of stopping by small, local bus stops they might not visit otherwise. Your destination could be on the way for someone at this terminal. So, for travelers seeking unique cities, get a ticket from Nambu terminal.
