Ssangmoon-Dong gained fame through the TV show ‘Reply 1988’. Despite a few high-rise apartment complexes. The area near Ssangmoon Metro Station retains its 1980s small red brick apartments, reminiscent of the show. Due to affordable rent, young entrepreneurs have opened shops here. It makes turning it into a small shopping street named Ssangridan-gil, reminiscent of Gyeongridan-gil in Yongsan.

Ssangridan-gil

Ironically, Ssangridan-Gil is not located in Ssangmoon-Dong but in Chang-Dong, on the opposite side. However, it is conveniently located about 5 minutes from Ssangmoon Metro Station. To reach this street, one must pass through a traditional market, where one side is lined with Pojangmacha (tented street food vendors) and the other side hosts grocery stores. 
Passing through the traditional open market, I encountered an international restaurant street. Here, you’ll find Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and Thai food options, along with numerous coffee shops scattered among the restaurants. What’s particularly intriguing is that all of these establishments are situated within a residential area.

Cafe La Mouy(RAMUI)

La Mouy is a coffee shop nestled in the heart of this area. While its small sign board may make it somewhat challenging to find, its clean and exotic exterior stands out and attracts patrons. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised by its spacious interior, which always seems to have its share of customers, making it feel like a reception room for the neighborhood residents. 
The prices at La Mouy are quite reasonable, with all beverages priced under 6,000 won and desserts under 6,500 won. The desserts have also received favorable reviews. While waiting for my order, I enjoyed the paintings hanging on the wall, and the greenery on the tables added to the serenity of the atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect for working, accompanied by a soothing white noise.
