Udon is a simple dish suitable for a light meal. In winter, hot udon soup warms the body, while in summer, cold udon cools the stomach. For added flavor, we can top it with tempura or eggs. Despite its Japanese origin, udon holds a significant place in Korean cuisine.
About 5 minutes from SsangRiDan-Gil, you’ll find MyeongJangUDong. It’s a small restaurant with about 20 seats. The chef makes their udon noodle dough fresh every day by foot. The yellow dough is stored in the refrigerator, with a portion prepared for each day.

MyeonJangUDong offers 11 different udon dishes, including 6 hot and 5 cold varieties. While the hot options are worth trying, I highly recommend the cold noodles for their texture. Despite my preference for hot soup, my top pick is the cold noodle dish. Their specialty menu item, ChikutamaBukkake, is a must-try.
